What is Bing Maps doing on here? You thought it was all about Google Earth right?
Well Bing doesn’t have the GIS features of Google Earth, but if you are a Windows 10 user, you can download an entire country for offline use. You can view road maps and get directions. You can even overlay screen shots from Bing maps to Google Earth. Free tools like this can come in very handy, so don’t write off Bing maps!
Windows 10 users can try this:
- Open Settings
- Tap or click System
- Tap or click Offline maps
- Tap or click Download maps
- Select regions to download.
The maps will regularly update, so remember to switch off updates if you are on a metered connection!
